Poker on Rainbow Riches Casino
What Poker games do you offer?
All Poker games on Rainbow Riches Casino currently play No Limit Texas Hold'em. No Limit betting means that you can bet any amount, up to all the chips you have at the table. Texas Hold'em is by far the most popular form of Poker today. However, we plan to add more exciting games in the future.
You can find out more about our Cardroom Code of Conduct and game fairness here.
Can I play on more than one table at the same time?
Yes, if using a desktop computer or laptop. Once you have registered for a game, head back to the Poker Lobby and there will be a 'plus' symbol at the top of the page which will split your screen in half. You can then register to another table. However, you can only play one game at a time on a mobile device.
How long do I have to make each decision at the table?
At a regular table you have 14 seconds to make each decision before being 'timed out'. There's a time limit so the players stay engaged and active in the room and so no-one is kept waiting too long! If you do not make any action within the allotted 14 second window, when facing a bet or raise your hand will be folded and your state changed to 'sitting out'. If you are not facing a bet or raise i.e. no player has bet or raised on the current betting round or you are first to act, you will check. Don't worry, you can return to the game at any time after sitting out, providing you still have chips.
How do I sit out of a Poker game?
At any time at the Poker table you have the option of sitting out by clicking the Sit Out button at the bottom of the screen. This means that you do not want to be involved in the next hand. In a tournament you will continue to receive cards and be forced to post blinds, but your cards will automatically be folded for you, unless you are all-in in which case your hand will go to showdown.

What is a split pot?
A split pot is where two or more players go to showdown and reveal identical five-card hands. The pot is then split evenly between these players. If chips cannot be split evenly amongst the players due to an odd number of chips, the first player clockwise from the button will receive the extra chip.
What is a side pot?
A pot can only be won by the players contributing to it. In a pot of three or more players where one is all-in, the all-in player is only eligible to win money that was bet up to the time that he went all-in (this is the main pot). After this player has gone all-in, any bets which occur between the other players are placed in a side pot and can only be won by these remaining players. If the best hand overall (at the end of the game) belonged to the player who went all-in, that player can only win the main pot, as that's the only one they had contributed to. The side pot is then won by the person with the best hand out of the remaining players. If the best hand overall belongs to someone contributing to the side pot, they win everything.
I played a hand and didn't have the option to raise, why was that?
Another player in the hand made an 'under raise'. An all-in bet of less than the size of the minimum allowed raise is considered an 'under raise' and for betting purposes is treated as a call. This means that it does not re-open the betting action for anybody that has already acted on their hand in that betting round and as such they can only call or fold and cannot raise.
The bet slider ranges from the minimum a player can bet to the maximum a player can bet. The default bet is half the size of the pot. The default raise is also half the size of the pot.
The marker on the bet slider represents the size of the current pot.
There are also buttons for Pot (to bet or raise the size of the pot) and Max (to bet the maximum allowed).
What happens if a Tournament is cancelled?
When a Tournament is cancelled, entries are refunded, or prizes are awarded as fairly as possible. The precise details depend on what stage the Tournament was in. For details of our tournament cancellation policy, please see the Game Rules.
What is my finishing position if I get eliminated in the same hand as another player?
If two or more players are eliminated in the same hand, the player with the most chips at the start of the hand will earn the higher finish. If the eliminated players started the hand with an identical number of chips, then they will tie for that finishing position, and all prizes due to those players will be combined and distributed evenly amongst them.
What is synchronised play, or "hand for hand" play?
Certain stages of a scheduled tournament may be played "hand for hand", which means that all tables will complete their current hand before the next hand is dealt. This is usually done when the cash prizes start being awarded, or when there is a significant jump in prizes. It is done to ensure fairness, so there is no advantage for players to stall the action in order to obtain a higher finish. If one table finishes a hand quickly, there may be a long pause before the next hand is dealt, while waiting for all of the remaining tables to finish their hands.
What are Tournament Buy Ins, Entry Fees, and Prize Pools?
To play in a poker tournament, you register and pay the tournament buy-in. A small fraction of the total buy-in, called the 'entry fee', is retained by Rainbow Riches Casino for administration of the tournament. The large majority of the buy-in goes toward the prize pool, which funds the prizes for the highest finishers. The entry fee is normally 10% or less of the buy-in. In some cases, a tournament may have zero entry fee, or zero buy-in, with free prizes provided by Rainbow Riches Casino. For full details on tournament buy-ins and entry fees, please visit the Game Rules section.
