All you need to know about Poker...
All Poker games on Rainbow Riches Casino currently play No Limit Texas Hold'em. No Limit betting means that you can bet any amount, up to all the chips you have at the table. Texas Hold'em is by far the most popular form of Poker today. However, we plan to add more exciting games in the future.
What are side pots?
A pot can only be won by the players contributing to it. In a pot of three or more players where one is all-in, the all-in player is only eligible to win money that was bet up to the time that he went all-in (this is the main pot). After this player has gone all-in, any bets which occur between the other players are placed in a side pot and can only be won by these remaining players.
If the best hand overall (at the end of the game) belonged to the player who went all-in, that player can only win the main pot, as that's the only one they had contributed to. The side pot is then won by the person with the best hand out of the remaining players. If the best hand overall belongs to someone contributing to the side pot, they win everything.
What are split pots?
A split pot is where two or more players go to showdown and reveal identical five-card hands. The pot is then split evenly between these players. If chips cannot be split evenly amongst the players due to an odd number of chips, the first player clockwise from the button will receive the extra chip.
How are the cards shuffled in Poker?
The cards are shuffled using our certified Random Number Generator (RNG). Achieving a truly random shuffle is a difficult technical challenge, and there are several built-in measures that ensure a fully randomised deck. As an extra layer of security, the deck is re-shuffled immediately before a new card is required.
Since there is no storage of a pre-shuffled deck, it is impossible for anyone to know what the next card will be before it is dealt. This means we don't need to 'burn' a card either, as they're already secure.
Do you offer any Poker tutorials?
We do! These can be accessed within the Poker lobby itself. Simply head to the Poker section onsite and click on any game under 'Poker Games' to access the lobby. Scroll down to bottom and you'll be able to find a series of videos on how to play Poker.
How long do I have to make each decision at the table?
At a regular table you have 14 seconds to make each decision before being 'timed out'. There's a time limit so the players stay engaged and active in the room and so no-one is kept waiting too long! If you do not make any action within the allotted 14 second window, when facing a bet or raise your hand will be folded and your state changed to 'sitting out'.
If you are not facing a bet or raise i.e. no player has bet or raised on the current betting round or you are first to act, you will check. Don't worry, you can return to the game at any time after sitting out, providing you still have chips.
